The Framer’s Loft offers “digital restoration” of old and antique photos.
Using our Digital restoration techniques, both black & white and color photos up to 13” x 19” can now be scanned into our computer at resolutions up to 6400 pixels per inch. Using a powerful photo imaging editing software, dust and scratches can be removed, stains and creases eliminated, colors restored, and teeth whitened without a trip to the dentist. This amazing software can even "airbrush" away those bags under Aunt Lucille’s eyes or eradicate those pesky telephone wires that sprout from Uncle Harry’s ears. And all this is done without altering the original photo in any way!
Once the image is restored, we can return it to an appropriate paper stock (glossy or matte finish) at resolutions of up to 1,440 dots per inch (dpi) using an eight color ink jet printer, virtually guaranteeing faithful reproduction of skin tones and the other original colors. And in the case of a black and white image, if desired, a gentle sepia or selenium tone can be introduced to retain the original feel of an antique photo.
